Hey Trotter!
Thanks for registering for the O’Side Turkey Trot as we celebrate 17 years running! We look forward to having you start the Thanksgiving holiday with your friends and family at the O’side Trot. We will be sending out final information before the event, but here is most of the information you will need. In addition, you can always visit the website!
TO DO BEFORE PACKET PICK UP!
1. ASAP! *NEW… Please Click here to select your bib pick up appointment time (this is for Wednesday only)! We want you to be able to plan ahead and avoid long lines.
2. Click here to find your bib number! (Updated daily. Your bib number will also be available for look up at the expo.)
3. Please bring your photo ID and signed waiver for yourself and anyone you are picking up for.
4. If you need to make a change to your registration, no problem just go to the Solutions Table at Packet Pick Up!

KIDS RUNS Race day registration occurs inside the Civic Center parking garage and ends at 10:00 AM

NOTES:
- 5K Run/Walkers: The 5K will have wave starts, please enter the corral according to your estimated pace per mile. This allows for everyone to have the best experience!
- *Strollers MUST start in the 5K stroller section, starting at 8:35 a.m.**
- Running Strollers are allowed in the 5Mile, whereas only waking strollers are allowed in the 5K.
- Dogs are not allowed
- You must wear your bib during the event!

During the expo, make sure you stop by the Goodie Table as you enter to pick up goodies, coupons and more!!
FREE RACE PHOTOS
All participants receive FREE race photos after the event. In order to receive your photos, you must wear your bib on race day and have an email address. Look for an email after the race with more details.
SOUVENIRS – Pick up your favorite O’side Turkey Trot Visors, Hats & Socks.
Souvenirs will be available for purchase/pick up on Wednesday in the Expo, and on Thursday in the Amphitheater. If you ordered any souvenirs online, please pick these up during the weekend!
COSTUME CONTEST
Run, Walk, or Trot in your favorite costume and participate in our contest at 9:45 am at the main stage in the amphitheater! The top 3 costumes, as voted on by crowd applause, will win gift cards worth $100, $50 and $25 to a local restaurant or business!
RUNNERS GEAR
Runners are encouraged to leave items in their vehicles. Limited runners gear check will be available in the Civic Center plaza on the East end of the fountains. You will need your bib to check your gear. Please bring your own re-usable bag. All gear left at the Civic Center after 11:00 am will be taken to the Kinane Events office. After 7 days, all items will be donated to the Women’s Resource Center.
FINISH LINE FUN!
After you finish your race, please continue walking north on The Strand towards Beach Community Center.
- Finish line food includes fresh fruit from Frazier Farms, GoMacro Bars & water from Urbn Water!
- The expo, including results, souvenirs & Photo Back Drops will be on your right as you keep walking.
- If you did not pick up your t-shirt on Wednesday, continue walking past the amphitheater to the Jr. Seau Beach Community Center to pick up your shirt!

THIS EVENT IS CHIP TIMED. YOU MUST WEAR YOUR BIB TO BE TIMED. Please do not cross the start or finish line mats more than once or your time will be disqualified unless you have a combo bib for multiple races. Please confirm you name and age on your bib when you pick it up.
AWARDS
1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Locals and Overall in the 5K and 5 Mile, Kids Runs receive an awared! Make sure to stay & pick up your award!

KING TIDES! Please Read!
We are expecting a “King Tide” on The Strand race morning at 8:25AM. Depending on the swell, there may be water and small rocks on the south end of The Strand. Runners will be asked to use caution when transitioning from Wisconsin to The Strand.
* If the King Tide brings in larger than normal rocks, we will divert all participants by U-Turning participants onto Pacific St. and then turning left on Seagaze to finish. The youth races will not be affected by the King Tides.
PARKING | DIRECTIONS
Carpooling, riding on our bus shuttle, taking the Sprinter or riding your bike are the best modes of transportation to get to the O’side Turkey Trot!
FREE PARKING! Downtown City Lots are FREE on Thanksgiving until 12 noon! Click here for all directions/maps
5 Mile & EARLY PARKING
Please arrive and park before 6:15 a.m. Due to street closures, please take Mission W/B to lots on Myers Street or park north of Pier View Way in parking lots and street parking adjacent Surfrider. You can also park in the 3-story parking garage at the Transit Center. Please note: Southbound Coast Hwy will be closed from Monterey to Surfrider on race morning from 6:45 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. After 6:45 am, please enter all lots west of Coast Hwy. from Oceanside Blvd, and take Myers, Tremont or Ditmar north until you see empty lots west of Coast Hwy.
From the North (Orange County) or Northeast (Hwy 76)
Before 6:30 am
From I-5, Exit Coast Hwy, turn left on Coast Hwy
- Turn left at Surfrider Way to park close to the start line / Civic Center
- Additional parking is available by turning RIGHT on Surfrider Way and then left on Cleveland.
- OR exit on Mission Ave and travel west to parking lots located east of Coast Hwy, and North and South of Mission Ave. You may also park at Oceanside High School.
After 6:30 am
- From I-5, Exit on Mission Ave.and travel west to parking lots located east of Coast Hwy, and North and South of Mission Ave. You may also park at Oceanside High School.
Please note: The Hwy 76/Coast Hwy exit from I-5 southbound will be closed from 6:30 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.
From the South (Carlsbad, San Diego) or Southeast (Vista-78 Fwy)
Prior to 6:30 am
From I-5 – Exit Mission and head west to:
- Lots on Myers Street/Pier View
- Lots North of Pier View Way
- Street parking adjacent to Surfrider
- Lots east of Coast Hwy. and north and south of Mission
After 6:30 am
From I-5 – exit Oceanside Blvd and head West.
- Go thru Coast Highway.
- Turn right on Myers St.; park in Beach/Train lot (on your right). OR, turn right on Tremont and travel North, turn left on Seagaze and park in the Oceanside Transit multi-level parking structure or, turn left on Seagaze and turn right on Mission to reach The SALT multi-use structure @ Cleveland & Pier View.
**FREE BUS SHUTTLE**
We will be running complimentary shuttle service from 6 am – 11 am from the below listed lots. Parking is FREE:
- Live Well Center | 1701 Mission Ave.
- Mira Costa Learning Center | 1831 Mission Ave.
- Brooks Street Pool | 130 Brooks St.
The bus will pick up on Barnes St & Mission Ave, and drop off on Ditmar and Civic Center. Post race, the bus will pick up where they dropped you off at start line, and drop you at Barnes St & MIssion Ave.

The shuttle does not have a lift!

DROP OFF OPTION: If you prefer to be dropped off, please utilize these free drop off locations:
1. Horne and Civic Center
2. Freeman and Seagaze
EXITING THE EVENT TO PARKING & SHUTTLE BUSES
If you took the shuttle or parked north of Pier View Way:
- Please exit the amphitheater/finish area by using the stairs on the north side of the Pier! Walk north on Pacific St to Surfrider or your parking lot. Shuttle riders turn right at Surfrider and right on Ditmar to the Shuttle Stop
- Participants using the Cleveland Parking structure should take this route as well to avoid interfering with 5K. Thank you.
If you parked South of Pierview/Start line and west of Coast Hwy:
- Please exit finish area at Seagaze just south of the finish line. Please be patient. You will need to cross the trotters on the course at Seagaze/Pacific when time permits
