Race Description

Come “move your feet before you eat” this Thanksgiving at Oceanside’s 17th Annual Turkey Trot 5 Mile or 5K run/walk. Join one of the fastest-growing holiday traditions. Be sure to bring the entire family, as there will be a race, run or walk for everyone. The event offers a costume contest, the largest teams competition, fabulous live entertainment on the course, and finisher medals for all participants.

Includes both the 5 Mile and the 5K race!  You’ll run the 5 Mile, and then return to the start line to run the 5K.  Two races in one day!

$5.00 from the entry fee can go to the Oceanside School or non-profit of your choice, or Move Your Feet Before You Eat Foundation®.

Course

The racecourse is a quick downhill 5 Mile/5K that starts at the Civic Center and finishes at the Pier area along the Beach.

* Race Day Registration and bib pick up starts at 6 AM inside the Civic Center parking garage. If you are picking up your bib and/or registering on race day, make sure to pick up your t-shirt and check out the souvenirs after you finish, at the Finish Line Expo at the Oceanside Amphitheater, near the finish line.

Locations

Stroller Policy

Due to the size of the event, strollers are ONLY allowed under the following conditions: 

  • 5k– you may walk with a stroller.  Walking strollers only.  No running strollers. Running with strollers is NOT allowed in the 5K.  Strollers in the 5K MUST line up in the final 2 waves! 
  • 5 Mile – You may run OR walk with a stroller.  Your pace must be faster than 12 min/mile (finish in one hour) in order for us to open the streets according to our event permit.

If you have a little one along r the ride, they do not need to be registered unless you want them to receive a shirt & medal.

Race Day Gear Check

Participants who are using alternate transport, such as rapid transit, biking, ride-share, or being dropped off at the event, will have a great check available in the courtyard of the Civic Center from 6:15 am.- 10:30 am.  Any items left behind on Race Day will be taken to the Kinane Events office and held for 7 days.  After 7 days, items will be donated to the Women’s Resource Center. Please note, Kinane Events staff and volunteers are not held responsible for any lost or damaged items.  We highly recommend that valuable items be left at home or carry them with you.  Please do NOT check keys, wallets, etc!
