More Info About Each Race

The 5M is scheduled to kick off the 14th annual O’Side Turkey Trot at 6:45 a.m. The 5M course leaves from the Civic Center and runs down to the Oceanside Blvd. turn around. After passing through the start area,  runners go over the new San Luis Rey Bridges twice, and down to the strand to finish behind the amphitheater. PLEASE NOTE: Due to road closure constraints, no participants slower than 13 minutes per mile are allowed in the 5M.

The original and a crowd favorite, the 5K Run/Walk annually attracts a big throng and starts at 8:10 a.m. and continues in waves until 8:35 a.m. In 2014, more than 7,500 runners and walkers, many in costume, participated. The 5K features world class runners, hometown heroes, huge families having reunions and great costumes. Known as a superfast course, the 5K features separate age group awards for Oceanside City residents as well as non-residents.

Combo Run

The Oceanside course is so inviting that more and more runners are opting to do both the 5M and 5K for a super Thanksgiving workout. Just look for the special Combo Run option in the online entry form. With almost 90 minutes between the races, the Combo Run is certainly worth considering. New this year will be unique 5M medals for all 5M finishers and Trot Medals for the 5K finish.

Kids' Run

As always, the O’side Turkey Trot ends with the next generation taking over and showing its running abilities. Five separate races for children begin at approximately 10:05 a.m. with a 1-Mile Run for 9-12 year-olds. A few minutes later, kids 7-8 have their own 1-Mile Run. Following that, younger runners get their turns with 1/5 mile runs. Then, the 6-year-olds run, followed by 5-year-olds and 4-year-olds. Stop by after your race to watch! The Kids’ 1-mile runs start at 306 S. Pacific St. between Tyson and Pine. The Kids’ 1/5 mile runs start adjacent to Tyson Park. All finish at the Amphitheater.
